Until your board publishes its own 2027 pattern, the safest way to prepare is to understand the previous pattern structure and then check it against the official pattern for your own board when it appears. The table below describes that previous structure in general terms. The exact number of questions, marks and sections can vary by subject and by board.
Previous 10th Class Paper Structure

Subjects Covered in the Previous 10th Pattern
In the previous pattern, 10th class students generally took compulsory subjects such as Urdu, English, Islamiat or Ethics, and Pakistan Studies, together with elective subjects. Science students generally took Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Computer Science, while arts students took their chosen arts electives. Do not treat this list as a 2027 announcement: your board’s own subject list and scheme for 2027 are the final authority.
What Could Change in 2027
- The number of questions in a section, or the choice offered, may change.
- The marks split between objective, short and long sections may change.
- A chapter pairing or a practical arrangement may be revised.
- The date sheet, timing and instructions on the paper itself remain board decisions.
