Best Subjects in BA to get good marks

The best subjects in BA to get good marks are as follows:
  • Arabic
  • Persian
  • Kashmiryat
  • Sociology
  • Punjabi
  • Islamic Studies
I have given this list only to get high marks in BA. But if you have a specific career orientation, you can choose those subjects. But if you only pass the BA with high marks and have no specific direction for further studies, or you want to do a job after BA, then you should choose from these subjects.

Best Subject Combination for good marks in BA

Here is recommended subjects combination to get high marks in BA:
  • Arabic, Sociology (elective)
  • Persian (optional)
OR
  • Kashmiryat, Arabic (Elective)
  • Persian (optional)
OR
  • Sociology, Persian (Elective)
  • Arabic (optional)
OR
  • Punjabi, Arabic (elective)
  • Persian (Optional)
Similarly, you can make your own combination from the given subjects.

Why am I suggesting these subjects?

Believe me, Arabic can give you 180+ marks as an elective subject. Similarly, Persian can give you 90+ marks as an optional subject.

Arabic gives you high marks because the paper is just like an objective type. There are "True-False" questions too. And everything comes from the textbook exercise. That is very easy to remember.

Persian can give you high marks in BA. This is because there are only 4 questions in Persian paper. there is 40% choice. You have only to learn the translation of Hikayat and the translation of the poetry section.

You have a choice to either write a note on the Life of Allam Iqbal or Sheikh Saadi. Or you have a choice to write a note of Gulistan of Saadi or Payam-e-Mashriq of Allama Iqbal.

Sociology is a very easy subject and gives you high marks too. Punjabi is easy for those who are Punjabis. Islamic Studies is easy as much content of Islamic education (Compulsory) and Islamic Studies (elective) is similar.

What is FA in Pakistan?

FA stands for Faculty of Arts. It is a two-year higher secondary school certificate.  It is comprised of subjects related to arts and humanities. It is done after matric in Pakistan. You can see this list of all subjects in FA.

Arts particularly refer to the subjects dealing with creativity e.g literature.

Humanities are the subjects dealing with the study of the aspects of human society and culture. Many social sciences like economics are also a part of the FA degree in many colleges. See best subjects combinations for FA.

In Pakistani colleges, different course combinations are offered to students for pursuing the FA degree.

Features of Study in FA

1. Opinionative Study

Contrary to FSc, in the FA degree, a student is supposed to be more opinionative. It is for this reason that all arts, literary or performative, are based on the creativity of the artist.

Therefore, to become an artist, your creative faculty must be activated. You also ought to have a lens to view things.

In the case of social sciences, which are also offered in the FA degree, both subjective and objective methods of study are involved.

2. Interactive Study

Another key characteristic of the studies is that it is interactive. In sciences, you examine things in laboratories. In social sciences, however, society is the laboratory. The ideas, study, and research are related to the real-life events of human beings.

For example, economics study the production, distribution, and consumption of human resources. Political science studies state and its institutions. Sociology studies the whole of society in general.

3. Real-Life Study

FA gives you vast exposure to the real-life events happening. It basically analyzes the things from a human-centric perspective. All its study is directed for the individual and social well-being of humans.

In this respect, the arts stimulate our senses and imagination to feel the metaphysical aspects of our lives. And social sciences examine the society putting us in the center of it and draw instructive conclusions.

Who Should Choose FA?

1. If you are a creative person and interested in literature, drama or fine arts, FA is the possible the best option for you. It will be your first step to excellence.

2. If you are interested in knowing how society works and the human role in forming and regulating, FA offers you many subjects, in which you can study any specific aspect of society.

3. If you wish to play a direct and productive role in social or political affairs, FA is suitable for you because it will give you many opportunities to polish your skills.

4. In a particular case, if you do not wish to discontinue your studies after intermediate for finding a job to support yourself, FA is the most appropriate option for you. (We advise you to never discontinue your studies unless it is impossible)

Who Should Not Choose FA?

  • If you have no interest in arts and humanities, we advise you to not join FA.
  • If you have studied science at the matriculation level, first try to check the subjects of FA. Do not choose FA if they do not appeal to you.

Jobs after FA degree in Pakistan

FA students can go into many fields after they complete their course. They can do teaching, writing, join a media house, do many types of private jobs etc. They can work in NGOs, offices, and schools. In addition they can get a good job through PPSC and NTS job tests.

1. Govt Jobs after FA

Many FA pass students go for Govt jobs in uniformed forces like the army, rangers, and police. These institutions require a Matric or FA education for the job. So, these are the best jobs for FA students.

2. Private Jobs

After FA, if not joined a govt job, the students work in factories, private companies, and offices. They work as helpers, office boys, assistants, and security guards. They also work as drivers, delivery boys, and virtual assistants.

Usually, the best private job after FA is joining a factory or organization as a junior assistant. Factories hire helpers and operator assistants.

These jobs do not require any type of technical skills and expertise. So, the students join these platforms after fa degree.

4. Potential job markets for FA students

FA degree holders can work in banks, utility stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, and schools. They can also work as ordinary positions at printing presses, media houses, superstores, bakeries, hotels and marriage halls.

What is Psychology?

Psychology is the study of the human mind and behavior. It tries to explain the complex system that makes us think, feel and behave.

Unlike biology which concerns itself with the biological and chemical structure and functioning of the human body, psychology deals with his cognition and its functions.

The study of psychology is based on its five major schools of thought: structuralism, functionalism, psychoanalysis, behaviorism, gestalt psychology and humanistic psychology.

Each tries to explain the intricacies of the human mind and behavior through different perspectives. A student who is willing to get enrolled in psychology should read these schools of thought prior to apply to a university.

Psychology and Psychiatry and Psychologist

A great many students confuse psychology with psychiatry. It is, therefore, to draw a margin between both fields.

Although they are similar in their function, they differ in their study and methods.

Psychology deals with the study of the human mind and behavior and their disabilities and illnesses through different therapies.

Whereas psychiatry is the study of resolving these problems with medications and physical treatments.

Students who are interested in taking admission in psychology should first distinguish between these disciplines and then make their choice as to what they are going to study in graduation or master's.
