NCERT Solutions Class 10 Maths — Full Book Notes, MCQs and Important Questions

If you are preparing for the CBSE Class 10 board exam, these ncert solutions class 10 maths notes cover the complete NCERT Mathematics textbook in one free, full-book PDF — chapter-wise notes, solved questions and practice material, written in simple language so you can revise the whole book without jumping between ten different websites.

ncert solutions class 10 maths

Maths is the subject most students fear, and the fear usually comes from one place: formulas and steps practised once and never revised. This book fixes that — every chapter gets the same treatment: short notes with the formulas you must remember, then questions to practise until the method feels automatic.

What Is Inside the PDF

The planned ncert solutions class 10 maths PDF covers all 14 chapters, following the same per-chapter structure as the Class 10 Science PDF. Every chapter has the same structure:

  • Notes first: the important concepts of the chapter in short, clear points — definitions, key formulas and the standard methods, with the worked steps you need to remember. The notes are written for revision, not for memorising long paragraphs.
  • 10 MCQs with an answer key: 140 in total. The CBSE paper now gives a large share of marks to competency-based and objective questions, so MCQ practice is not optional. Check your answers from the key at the end of each chapter.
  • 5 solved short questions: 70 in total, with answers written the way a board answer should be — direct, complete, step by step and to the point.
  • 2 solved long questions: 28 in total, covering the bigger topics that usually carry 3 or 5 marks.

That is 140 MCQs, 70 short questions and 28 long questions — all solved, all from the NCERT book itself, all answers written in our own words. This is practice material, not an official CBSE paper.

NCERT Solutions Class 10 Maths — All 14 Chapters

Here is the complete chapter list, grouped the way the book itself is organised:

Number and Algebra — Chapters 1 to 5

  1. Real Numbers
  2. Polynomials
  3. Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables
  4. Quadratic Equations
  5. Arithmetic Progressions

Geometry and Trigonometry — Chapters 6 to 11

  1. Triangles
  2. Coordinate Geometry
  3. Introduction to Trigonometry
  4. Some Applications of Trigonometry
  5. Circles
  6. Areas Related to Circles

Mensuration, Statistics and Probability — Chapters 12 to 14

  1. Surface Areas and Volumes
  2. Statistics
  3. Probability

Algebra carries the largest share of the theory paper, so Chapters 1 to 5 deserve the most practice time. Geometry and Trigonometry are six chapters — do not leave them for the last week. Statistics and Probability are short chapters of easy marks — revise them fully.

CBSE Class 10 Maths Paper Pattern

The pattern below is reproduced from third-party sources based on CBSE sample papers, not an official CBSE quote — confirm it on cbseacademic.nic.in before your exam.

  • Theory paper: 80 marks, 3 hours. Internal assessment: 20 marks. Total: 100 marks.
  • Passing marks: 33% in theory and 33% in internal assessment separately.
  • Theory paper structure (80 marks, 38 questions): Section A — 20 MCQs, 20 marks; Section B — 5 very short answer questions of 2 marks each, 10 marks; Section C — 6 short answer questions of 3 marks each, 18 marks; Section D — 4 long answer questions of 5 marks each, 20 marks; Section E — 3 case-based questions of 4 marks each, 12 marks.
  • Unit-wise weightage (theory, 80 marks): Number Systems: 6 marks; Algebra: 20 marks; Coordinate Geometry: 6 marks; Geometry: 15 marks; Trigonometry: 12 marks; Mensuration: 10 marks; Statistics and Probability: 11 marks. This weightage is third-party reproduced from CBSE sample papers, not an official CBSE statement.
  • Internal assessment (20 marks): periodic tests, practical work and portfolio, split as set by your school under CBSE guidelines.

Note: from 2026, CBSE holds the Class 10 exam twice a year. The next date sheet had not been released at the time of writing, so no exam date is given here — check cbseacademic.nic.in when it is published.

How to Use This PDF

Do not read this book like a novel. Use it in three rounds:

Round 1 — Learn: read the notes of one chapter, then answer its 10 MCQs without looking at the key. Work the short and long answers yourself first, then compare them with the solved answers in the PDF. One chapter a day finishes the whole book in 14 days.

Round 2 — Revise: re-do only the MCQs and questions you got wrong the first time, using the answer keys in the PDF. Keep a small notebook for the formulas you keep forgetting — trigonometric identities (Chapter 8), circle theorems (Chapter 10), surface area and volume formulas (Chapter 12). Revise that notebook, not the whole PDF, in the last three days.

Round 3 — Practise with papers: in the last weeks, solve official CBSE sample papers and previous year papers in 3 hours, no book, no phone. CBSE publishes its sample papers with marking schemes free at cbseacademic.nic.in. Use those first: they show exactly how CBSE frames questions. Our PDF gives you the chapter knowledge; the sample papers show you how that knowledge is tested.

Sample Papers and Previous Year Papers

Use two more things alongside these notes:

  1. CBSE sample papers: CBSE releases official sample papers with marking schemes for the current session on cbseacademic.nic.in. Solve the Maths sample paper fully — the marking scheme shows how many marks each step of an answer earns.
  2. Previous year question papers: actual past board papers, year-wise. They show which chapters CBSE asks most often. Use only papers CBSE has released publicly, and note the year and session.

This PDF is neither a CBSE sample paper nor a previous year paper. It is a notes and practice book built from the NCERT textbook — use it together with the official papers, not instead of them.

Important Questions — How to Use Them

The short and long questions in this PDF are each chapter’s important questions — chosen from the NCERT exercises, previous year papers and chapter weightage. They are practice material, not a leaked paper and not a confirmed question list. CBSE issues no official guess paper, and nobody can tell you the exact questions of the next exam. Use them the honest way: if you can answer every question in a chapter without the book, that chapter is ready. If not, revise the notes and try again. That is the whole method.
