Summary of the poem The Rain

The poem “The Rain” is written by W.H Davies, a great lover of nature. This poem describes the natural sight of rain. The rain falls on top of thick leaves. These thick leaves drink the rainwater first and then pass the rainwater drop by drop to the lower thin leaves.

The thick leaves on top symbolize rich people who enjoy most of the blessings, but they give very little amount of alms to the poor.

The beating of the raindrops against the thick leaves of the tree produces soft music. The poet feels happy to hear it.

In the second stanza, the poet says that when the rain stops, the sun will come out from the clouds. It will illuminate everything, including dark, round drops of rain. Its light will spread everywhere equally.

This will create a beautiful and pleasant scene. Here, the poet hopes that the day will come when the painful differences between the rich and the poor will come to an end. There will be peace and equality in society.

Summary of the Poem "Peace" for class 10

Here is a brief introduction and summary of the poem "Peace". 10th class and 9th class students can learn it.

Summary of the Poem Peace

Dr. Hartmann's poem “Peace” describes two natural aspects of wind, storm, and peace.

In the first stanza, the poetess explains the cruel role of the wind. She says that in the form of a storm, wind destroys everything. Her anger hits beautiful buildings, trees, and fields. It grounds the wonderful works of man. It ruins everything that comes in its range.

After destroying, it sweeps the broken pieces and spreads here and there.

In the second stanza, the poetess describes the sweet aspect of the wind. Here wind has taken the form of a gentle breeze. The poetess says that what she has described before is not the reality.

The reality of wind lies, in fact, in its gentleness and peace. It gives life to buds, birds, and humans. The bright sky looks so blue and cloudless.

There is peace and quiet everywhere. Only the mild and faint whisper of breeze can be heard somewhere at a distance.
