Punjab Boards new grading system 2026
All educational boards in Punjab will adopt this policy from the 2026 exams. This policy is currently valid for the 9th class and the 11th class students. The same grading system will continue in 2026 and onwards.
According to the new grading system. The passing marks have been changed. Your result card design and credentials will be changed. Read below what has changed in Punjab Boards Pakistan.
Passing Marks for 9th class 2026
The students will have to get 33% marks in every subject to pass the exam. Now we know that 1st year syllabus 2026 has been changed. The new syllabus has a new look.
Now the students will get 33% marks to pass the exams. Here is how many marks will be required to pass the subject.
Passing marks for every subject 2026

The same system will be followed for 1st year.
Passing Marks for 1st year
1st year passing marks will also be 33% for ev ery subject. The passing marks for every subject are the same as shown in the table above.
What else has changed under the new grading system?
The reporting of marks and achievements of the students has been changed. The board will mention your Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) on your Result card. No actual marks will be mentioned.
How will your GPA and CGPA be calculated?
Your Report card will show only your GPA or CGPA. No obtained marks will be mentioned on the result card. So, the design of your report card will be changed. Here is how you GPA and CGPA will be calculated.

Important:
This grading system applies to 9th class and 11th class exams 2026. It does not apply to 10th class and 12th class exams in 2026.
