Punjab Boards new grading system 2024

All educational boards in Punjab will adopt this policy from 2024 exams. This policy is currently valid for the 9th class and the 11th class students. The same grading system will continue in 2025 and onwards.

According to the new grading system. The passing marks have been changed. Your result card design and credentials will be changed. Read below what has changed in Punjab Boards Pakistan.

Passing Marks for 9th class 2024

The students will have to get 40% marks in every subject to pass the exam. The old grading system allowed the students to get 33% marks to be declared pass.

Now the students will get 40% marks to pass the exams. Here is how many marks will be required to pass the subject.

The same system will be followed for 1st year.

Passing Marks for 1st year

1st year passing marks will also be 40% for ev ery subject. The passing marks for every subject are the same as shown in the table above.

What else has changed under the new grading system?

The reporting of marks and achievements of the students has been changed. The board will mention your Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) on your Result card. No actual marks will be mentioned.

How will your GPA and CGPA be calculated?

Your Report card will show only your GPA or CGPA. No obtained marks will be mentioned on the result card. So, the design of your report card will be changed. Here is how you GPA and CGPA will be calculated.

Important:

This grading system is applicable to 9th class and 11th class exams 2024. It is not applicable to 10th class and 12th class exams in 2024. 

The old passing marks criteria (33%) and the old grading system will be followed for 10th class and 12th class exams in 2024.
